Peg Perego Primo Viaggo will not detach from base

I have been using the Peg Perego Primo Viaggo for about 5 months without any problems. However, today I put the car seat in the base and now it will not come out. Actually, one side is detached but the other side is not. Also, the handle on the back that you pull up to release the car seat is stuck (all the way pulled up as far as it will go).

SOURCE: I need to take my peg perego car seat off the chassis of stroller

It releases from the chassis the same way it releases from the base in the car. You may have to hold down on the stroller chassis with your foot while pulling up on the lever on the back of the car seat.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE CAR SEAT FROM THE BASE. BOUGHT AT YARD SALE. DIDN'T HAVE THE MANUEL THAT CAME WITH IT. HELP

Just FYI, Peg Perego's expiry 5 years from the manufacture date. This date, or the expiry date will be right on the seat. If the seat is damaged, expired or your unsure of the history it should be discarded.

Anyway - the manual can be found here for the SIP 30-30 which yours may or may not be (would need to get the model number off the seat or check stickers). Peg also has a 22lb model, which was also very common a few years back, but the manual isn't easily found on their website.

Styrofoam insert for Peg Perego Infant Car seat

Hi, I figured I would post the outcome since I was searching for resolutions. I called Peg Perego. The piece that is cracked on my Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP Infant Car Seat is the top of the center section of the headrest. The representative said it can be replaced with a new headrest piece for $32.99 (including shipping). The new piece does not have stryofoam though. It's just a heavier material (almost pillow-like). The representative that I spoke to, however, said that if the styrofoam was a clean break (meaning not in a whole bunch of pieces) it's still safe to keep it together under the cover and use the car seat as normal. Apparently, that's not what's really protecting the baby anyway. To be honest, I don't even think that I broke the styrofoam while taking the cover off, I think it was broken beforehand probably by just use and the weight of the baby. I will get some styrofoam glue and duct tape and just secure it, and put my sparkly clean cover back over top of it. I think it's fine for use. Thanks and good luck to others with this issue out there!

Car seat without base

You cannot use a Peg Perego Infant Seat without the base. There is no belt path on the seat itself.
