SOURCE: The following printhead(s) has a problem Black/Yellow[K/Y].

Simple solution is:

Replace the Black and Yellow Print Catridges. The print heads are mounted to the bottom of the catridges and these, depending on whther they're from HP or not. can have a hard time conducting electricity properly, and in turn.. spitting ink out properly.

Also happens often with aftermarket Catridges because HP puts chips on the catridge. be sure to put an HP catridge. Sometimes you get what you pay for :)

SOURCE: L7380 is givinf errors on printthaed

This particular printer has separate ink heads and cartridges.
Call HP and complain about it not lasting the specified amount of prints and they might get it to you free.
Is this less than a year old?

Take it out and clean the contacts. Put it back in and see if the problem's gone. If not, buy new printhead.

I bought and replaced the black and yellow printhead today. It printed some colored pages. Then when I began to print this evening a colored page. It stopped in the middle of printing and the printer...

please take your print head and get it tested or get it replaced, or you could take your printer to a local HP service centre and get it checked, rather than trying to fix it yourself you mite damage the sensors for the print head.

I have three HP L7780 printers that have bad print heads black/yellow. replaced but same problem. ?????

take out printheads. unplugg power cable from back press adn hold down 6 and # buttons on pritner at same time while holding them down plugg it back in. then insert printheads one by one. first insert black/yellow shutt the door adn check for message on pritner screen. if it says printhead missing cyan/megenta it means it detected black/yellow printhead. do same with cyan/megenta adn check for message on screen. if you see no error mesage and both printheads were detected fine let the printheads alligned completely. then if u see same issue it is the pritner whgich need to be replaced.

New print head installed not working well

First thing I would look for is something on the print head contacts. Also is it a new black ink tank? Your old tank may be clogged and thus the ink can not even travel to the print head.

My HP officejet Pro L7580 says the printhead has a problem

Re-insert the print cartridges. It is also possible that the heads are burnt. Get a new set of print heads (black/yellow) and install to the printer. If problem persists, clean the contacts on the printers. Use acetone + cotton swabs.

HP L7580 Printer Head Problem??

I had the same problem plus had problems with message indicating "alignment failed" and to monitor the blakc/yellow print head.  The print quality was very bad in black.  It seemed to print about 1.5 lines and then skip a line. When I replaced black and yellow it seemed to get better print quality was just as bad.  Finally called HP support. These are the steps they told me to do.

1. disconnect power

2. remove all ink cartridges

3. remove and clean contacts of both print heads

4. perform simultaneously the following press 6 and # on the keypad while at the same time plug in the power.

5.  --- the printer came on (black squares on the screen) and then shut off.

6. --- was told to power up the printer

7. Printer began checking device(took a long time)

8. Printer began aligning printer (took a long time)

9. Finally finished = Message on screen "Alignment Failed"

10. Still not printing and hours later.

11. They will be replacing printer

12. Then they hit you with that you should buy a set of inkjet cartidges from them at $109.96 -  warranty 2yr, works better, etc.

13. Sent to somebody else to arrange shipping new printer.

14. Free shipping 5-7 days - big deal -  placed my work (home office) on hold.

16.  Service help - listen when it follows the script, otherwise like talking to a door  (In India).

17. Finally get transfered to somebody else and he informs me that he is not authorize to give me a new printer, need to talk to somebody else who is not there.  Advises to call during business hours.  He said that he could request that I be called back but that it could take a 1.5 days to get back to me.

18. I am going to call tomorrow morning during business hours - wish me luck.

I don't know what is awaiting but IN The Future I will not talk to anybody from INDIA - they do not have authority and do not listen (but maybe they don't listen because they can't do anything about it).

Good Luck!!
