I have my phone service via the cable; but the caller ID doesn't work with this phone system.
If your cable service is transmitting the caller id data, and the phone has that feature and is working properly, you should be getting the caller id after the second ring. The only way to confirm where your problem lies (the phone or the cable service) is to take your phone to a regular phone line with caller id and see if it works, and vise versa. My guess would be that the Panasonic phone is working fine on a regular phone line of which it was designed to do, and the problem is in the cable carrier not conforming to industry standards. But I may be wrong.

It appears to be more of a phone issue, because the caller I.D. functions properly on the caller I.D. boxes when installed
I have my phone via cable the caller ID was working fine and the caller ID just stopped working the phone works but not the ID.
static so loud I can't hear callers. I have let three phones die and completely recharge with same results. Service provider already checked their system. It's OK.
