We have a Denon AVR-600 and -protect- is showing on the unit. We follwed the instructions in user manual and checked all speaker connections for shorts, cleaned vents and unplugged it for 24 hours. Panel lock function ... To prevent accidental operation of this unit, you can disable operation of the buttons on the front panel. Open Front Key Lock N59. Basic.
It sounds like there is a problem with the differential circuit. The bias I am not sure about, as every unit is different. You should get the service manual to be sure or call Denon and see if they can give you an idea. Good Luck
