Sony KDF-50E2000 shuts down and blinks repeatedly twice.

My KDF-50E2000 was purchased in Nov 2006. In last several days it shuts off by itself and the red power light blinks repeatedly in a series of two. This only happens when I am watching digital TV with my antenna (no cable or satellite). After trying to turn it back on, it starts to warm up and then shuts down again and the red power light then blinks in series of six times. I have tried unplugging it for several hours and it will work again for a time before shutting down again after watching for a bit. Although, if I was watching DVDs or playing Wii, I have yet to have the TV shut down on me. Does this have something to do with the digital tuner?

I unplugged it overnight, and now I can't even get it to turn back on. It simply starts warming up for a few seconds and then shut back down again.

The 2 blink error is a temperature error and the 6 blink error is a thermal fuse error. You may need to unplug the set and get you a can of canned air, take off the back lower cover and blow out all of the fans inside the set.

KDF-46E2000 turns off then back on by its self

* Most common would be a couple of capacitors in the power supply that are not letting the proper voltage to the lamp.
