Hello
That means the DVD you put into it to play has recordings with "progressive scan" mode. You have to change the mode of the DVD and TV which you wants to see to Progressive Scan mode to see the disc content. OK.
If your TV does not support progressive scan, you won't be able to get out of the blue screen. The only way to solve this issue is to connect the unit to a multistandard TV which has this capability, then in the player's on screen menu, look for anything that would allow you to select either progressive or interlace as its video output (or has progressive on and off feature) - and switch progressive 'off'. This should revert the output back to interlace. Then unplug the combo, reconnect it to your original set, and it should work fine after that.
Not impossible to correct, but a real pain if progressive is selected in a DVD player's output and the TV does not have that feature. Some DVD players have progressive output as a default option in their setup. Reverting it to interlace or turning it off so it matches the TV it is connected to should solve this problem.
This sounds like a progressive scan issue (unit in P.Scan Mode) here is a C&P from the manual
Set "Alt Video Out" Highlight "Alt Video Out", then press the RIGHT button to select one of the following options: • S-Video - Select this if you are using the S-Video OUT jack on the rear panel to connect to a TV. • Component - Select this if you are using the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks on the rear panel to connect to a Progressive(480p) or Interlaced (480i) TV. • See your TV owner's manual to determine what type of TV you have. - Interlace : Interlaced Scan mode will work. - Progressive : Progressive Scan mode will work, and Video and S-Video will not work. • Press the Progressive button on the front panel if you have a Progressive scan TV only. Otherwise, the picture will be disturbed.
I turned on the dvd player and pressed down on the play button and counted to 10, but before I got to 10 the progressive light went of and the image on my tv set came back on.
to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.
press stop and keep hold of the stop button while you eject the dvd, it worked for me, i played around with it and found pressing stop and holding it while ejecting works
Stuck in Progressive Scan Mode??? Remove the disc(s) from the changer, make sure TV is on Blue Screen...should say "Progressive Scan Mode".......Simply press and hold the stop button for 5-10 seconds and it will reset.
If you set progressive scant On by accident, you must reset the unit.
Remove any disc from the unit and close the disc tray. See that "disc" is displayed on the display window. Now press STOP and hold it for more than 5 seconds before releasing it. The video output will be restored to the standard setting and picture will once again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.
Whne DVD is on it reads progressive scan I have sound but a blue screen
