Take a look at the back of the TV set if you see that the lamp is on the problem is not going to be with the lamp,color wheel or ballast the problem is most likely at this point the DMD board here is a link that tells you how this part works it looks like all the micro mirrors on this board are on the ON position at all times

Possibly the colorwheel. remove the lamp and see if the colorwheel is still there (colored glass through the hole). if it is, replace the lamp and turn the projector on. if you hear a high pitched whir, the colorwheel motor is ok. if not, it's one of 2 things: the main board has come loose from the dmd chip board, or the main board (eca controller) is bad. if the board is bad, you'll need to replace it, but it's over $500.
