Changing belt on Kirby is a bit complicated. Kirby Co. just did not make it easy for their customers. You have to be careful when installing the brush roll back. Brush roll end caps have to be put back a certain way. For detailed instructions with pictures go HERE.
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=0&thid=722285 Generic problem for all Vacuums Hi I am looking for Posted by libbit1 on Jun 30, 2008 Hi, I am looking for some where to get my Kirby Legend 11 vacuum cleaner serviced and probably a new brush head for it thanks. Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. In most cities there are factory authorizes Kirby Vacuum dealers that also do service in most of the big cities other wise there are your local vacuum cleaner dealers in your area that also do service on the Kirby vacuums. When referring to the brush head are you asking for the bell housing or the brushroll. The brushrolls are very available @ either dealer but the bell housing that the brushroll fits into you probably will need to get that from the factory or the local vac dealers may have a good used one for less money or ½ the cost of a new one. Just a suggestion for you. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://kirby.com/Customer Service – United States & Canada1-800-494-8586 Hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST)U.S. & Canada Fax # 1 (216) 529-6146 Mail To: Consumer Relations The Kirby Company 1920 West 114 Street Cleveland, OH44102 Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead.
