SOURCE: my whirlpool dryer wont get hot

Does it heat up at all? If so, your vent may be clogged. First check the air flow to the vent. If it vents straight out from the laundry area, be sure it's got good air flow. If it ventys up inside the wall, you need to have the vent cleaned out for saftey reasons. If it does vent up, you could have a house fire. Or your safety t-stat or thermal fuse may be out. Whrilpool washer/dryer stack the dryer doesn't get hot

You will find that the drier wont get hot because the timer is not forwarding onto the heating part of the cycle. Possibly if you click one click at a time, you will possibly get to the heating part of the cycle but its not safe as it wont go any further. Install a new timer and you will be happier I'm sure.
