When I try to add hardware(wizard), it says it can't find new hardware device. Where o where is the device?

Network cable needs no driver, but may need to reset the modem if it's locked to a different service provider
Are you connecting the modem using a USB cable or a ethernet cable.
If its the USB cable you would need the disk supplied with it and if its an ethernet cable, no installation is required.
