No picture When i turn on my tv i get the picture for a split second and then the picture turns black. But i still get sound and the power is still on.

Common short the cover cap over the video & sound boards short out if you remove it the cap only (shield metal) it usually will fix this

turn tv on picture comes up 2to3 seconds later tv blacks out then stand by red light flashes 4 times in a row repeatedly..can not turn on or off when stand by light starts flashing but before tv blacks out you can turn tv on and off repeatedly and picture and sound work.You have to unplug power cord for 30 seconds after stand by light comes on to get tv to turn on.

Sounds like power supply. Probably time for a new tv. You have already got almost 20 years service.

Same problem as sweetpetny...blinking power button, won't on.

I have the same problem. The next stage is that the picture won't come on at all and the blue light will constantly blink. I think the light source is bad. Noit sure though.

Try resoldering the vertical output IC this is acommon problem with this model

I just got done fixing an Akai LCT2660 that had four bad capacitors on the power board.Works perfect now.Hope this helps.Thank You very much!
