Sometimes my new machine will not fill with water

I just got a new Kenmore 500 washing machine yesterday. Sometimes the machine will not fill with water - in the wash cycle or in the rinse cycle. The water just runs and runs and the tub never fills up or starts the cycle. Please help

Is this a new machine bought from the retailer? If so you should be able to get service from the store.

Make sure that your drain hose is coming up ( 90 degrees ) from the base of the machine. and then drains near or close to the height of the machine. the drain hose at least needs to be at a 45 degree angle to fill properly otherwise it will continuosly drain. hope this helps.

My Kenmore 500 will fill with water but after it fills the water won't shut off.

If your Kenmore 500 washing machine is filling with water but the water won't shut off, it could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things to check:
  1. Water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the washing machine. If the valve is faulty or stuck open, it may cause the water to continue flowing even after the machine is full.
  2. Water level switch: The water level switch is responsible for detecting the level of water in the machine and shutting off the water when the machine is full. If the switch is faulty or not functioning properly, it may cause the water to continue flowing.
  3. Wiring issue: There may be a problem with the wiring or the electrical system that is causing the water inlet valve or the water level switch to malfunction.
To determine the cause of the problem, it is recommended to bring your washing machine to a professional appliance repair service for further diagnosis and repair. They will be able to test the water inlet valve, water level switch, and other components to identify the source of the issue and recommend the appropriate repairs.

Kenmore 500 washer fills up with water and then does a buzzing sound and doesn't do any washing. Anyone have any idea

After you unplug the machine, tip it over with help. Put blanket down first and no water inside ofcourse. Chk to make sure it has a belt on it, or if you see it lose or hanging put a new one. Very easy to put on with machine upside down. Good luck. Frank

My Kenmore 500 top loading washing machine wont work right. sometimes it will work and other times it wont. I will put a load in it and sometimes when it hits the rinse cycle it seems like it gets stuck...

for the top loading washing machine mostly have drain pump, please check the filter of your drain pump, if clog your drain pump of some hair pins, cotton buds or coins or any small item, that the cause of water stuck, and it will long time draining or totally not running the drain pump.and its cause of stop of cycle of washing machine in rinse time or spin time, because after washing the pump must be on to remove water before start the next cycle.and the unit top load have drain pump you must be up the drain hose up to 90cm from floor lever to make the water lever is make in normal, the water automatically goes out by drain pump.
and for unbalance most of all top loader have problem in unbalance, the main reason is overload or the type of cloth you wash.

Water doesn't stop filling the machine, kenmore 500

If the machine still fills with the power turned off then the fill valve has failed and needs to be cleaned out or replaced (Quite cheap and easy to do )

If it fills with the power turned on then you need to check the pressure switch and the pipes leading to it for blockages

Kenmore washing machine will not fill with water.

The drain hose might be too low. Make sure the drain hose is at least three feet above the floor.
