My hotpoint condenser tumble dryer keeps triping the mains in my house when i try to switch it on

hi ime not sure but some dryers have a small tank inside at bottom with a float maybe float is stuck or if it has a pump maybe not working will have one if water tank is at top of dryer

check fuse rate on dryer if same rate. check dryer for amps if pulling to many will blow fuse, if dryer is ok check from plug in to fuse.

yes............the 2 round bits are the thermostats.......these need changing in pairs.......not just 1 of them

You have a short circuit on the machine and the breaker is trying to save your life.

It could be the elements have gone down or a wire has rubbed through or even a switch has melted

It requires a person with a test meter and some knowledge of the machine to open it up and take a look

Try it with the heater disconnected, you will find it at the rear of the m/c at the bottom left behind a removable panel.
You may have to remove the top cover and the right hand side panel looking at the m/c from the front. Try it again.
I fit does not trip. then your heater is faulty.
If it still trips then you are probably going to have to call en engineer

you need to ck the back off the dryer and open the small cover wher the elet cord is ateched . it may bo loose or need to replace the block.

I am not familiar with this particular unit, but I have a condensing dryer (Malber) which pumps out the water by itself. I am guessing that your unit requires you to empty a bin manually. Even if the bin is empty, I think the unit thinks it needs to be emptied and that is why the dryer will not work to give you hot air. If you do have such a bin, it might have a weight switch which the unit uses to detect if the bin needs emptying. See if the weight switch is working. The same weight switch idea is used on dehumidifiers.
