1. Confirm the USB port on the computer you are connecting your printer to is being recognized by your computer. The easiest way to do this would be to plug a known good USB Memory stick into the USB port you want to use. If you can read the contents of the USB Memory stick then the port should work. Remove the Memory stick, start the printer installation program (Make sure you don't the printer connected), want until the setup program tells you to connect the printer before you attach the Printer's USB cable.
If the printer isn't recognized try a different USB port, when picking a new USB port to try select a higher priority port, for example in increasing priority from, an external USB hub, a powered external hub, a monitor based hub, USB ports on the front of the computer, up to the USB ports at the computer rear. For USB ports on the same circuit select an USB 2.0 before an USB 3.0 port
First, try attaching the camcorder via usb cable with the camera OFF, then turning it on. This may trigger Windows to activate the driver scanner and activate the driver. If you've been attaching with camcorder off, try attaching with it on, to see if that activates driver installation.
If that doesn't work, you may have a low-power usb plug; often the usb ports in the back of the computer put out more juice than the handy ones on the front. You may also need a shorter and more robust usb cable; I've found with various cameras and phones that certain usb cables work fine for recharging but won't necessarily provide adequate data transfer.
The issue might be the port is broken, please try using another port to see if the issue persists. If it doesn't then the port it was previously connected to is broken and probably have to be plugged in at a certain elevated angle to work
Port 80 may be open behind the router to network B, but the ports used for printing may not. See if the router is blocking any ports and disable this feature for printing ports or all ports if possible.
Alternatively, try setting up a virtual server on the bridging router that points to the static ip address of your printer on network A.
Hope this helps. -Daniel
You don't map the Universal Serial Buss. You just hook all the devices to the connection points (ports). The computer find them by device, MAC address, etc., not by port number. You can hook up to 127 devices to a computer, and the computer will talk to all of them regardless the physical point of connection. That's the reason, you can buy USB hubs with 4 or more connection points that plug into an USB port (how do you map that?). USB1 - 6 is for you to know how many devices are connected to the computer via USB at a certain time. So if your printer is configured for USB1, what ever port you plug that printer in, will be USB1.
you cant charge a 3100 with the USB connection.

hi
the computer is asking youto connect the printer USB cable to a USB port.
first you have to connect the prnter to the USB port and wait to detect the printer.
if the printer is not detected, the connection is not proper or the USB port is not active.
use another port and try
thanks
