It sounds like you may have a stuck micro button (volume button on tv) . You might try to push the up volume button on the tv several time and try to get it unstuck (if in fact that is the problem). Also sometime I have had situtions where the board holding these switches on the inside of the t was broke and had to be soldered and repaired.
If I can be of any more help, please email me at [email protected].

That problem is usually cause of defective button at the TV (not on the remote).
Because when the button is defective it is not go back to the original position or contact which is (N.O) normally open. When you push the defective button it remains on contact (N.C) normally close not go back to the normally open.So that the volume of the TV is increase automatically.
what you describe is almost impossible ..the only explaining is someone with a compatible remote control messing around with you ..so ...pay attention ..and after that if you are completely sure that this is out of case...Leave a comment and I will search for another possible cause ..
check to see if the buttons on the side are stuck in the down position, kinda hard you have to feel it. Vizio buttons do get stuck. sometimes you have to unscrew the back of the tv and replace it correctly so the buttons are not pushed down. if the buttons are not pushed down you have to buy a button control board. if you were able to unscrew the back, you should be able to see the board where the buttons are, look online for that board, they usually cost less than $30 but you need the right board. once you replace it (make sure power is off when taking back off) replace the back of the tv and you should be set. there is also some kind of spongy material that will get stuck, but if you're experiencing the problem with two different buttons then i suggest they are stuck or the board needs replacement.
The first thing to check is the push button assembly maybe the volume down button has been pushed in too hard/far and is always making contact, sometimes when we clean the face of the tube water drips down in thru the edge of the frame in the buttonts, corrosion sets in and creates a short,if you are familiar with tv service you can chech the buttons thru the inside to make sure they are not pushed in but if you are not famliar be safe and call for assistance froma servicer.
