How to use one then one iPod with one computer

Method One
If you share your computer with other people, you can maintain separate user accounts for each person who uses the computer. This is useful especially if each user has different tastes in music; users can maintain separate, personalized iTunes music libraries and can customize their iPods accordingly.

Mac OS X users:
Learn how to set up additional user accounts.

Windows users:
Look in your computer's Help documentation to learn how to set up additional user accounts. To locate this information:

Click the Start Menu, and then click Help or Help and Support.
Enter "new user" in the Search field.
Press Return.
If you create multiple user accounts on one computer but want the same music to be available in iTunes for all users, see iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer.

Method Two

You may use multiple iPods on a computer without the need to create multiple user accounts. To do this, you can set iTunes to update each iPod with only certain playlists. This method allows you to put all your music on, say, your iPod and keep your iPod shuffle updated with only your workout music. Here's how to do this with iTunes 9:

Create new iTunes playlists that contain all the music that you want to sync to each iPod.
Learn how to Sync your iPod (read the iPod Tutorial Steps section below the video).
Note: iTunes for Windows does not support syncing multiple iPod devices at the same time.

Method Three

Create a separate iTunes library for each iPod. Note: It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not just make a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.

Mac users: Hold down the Option key while you open iTunes.
Windows users: Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes.
In the dialog that appears, click Create Library.
Name and save the alternate library file. iTunes opens with your brand new library file.
Open iTunes Preferences. Choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).
Click the Advanced tab.
Deselect the "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" checkbox if it is already selected and click OK. This will prevent iTunes from creating duplicates of your existing media files in the new library folder.

Add the specific media files you want on your iPod to iTunes either by dragging them into iTunes or choosing File > Add to Library (Mac) or File > Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows).

Once you have the iTunes Library just how you want it, connect and sync your iPod.

Once the sync is complete, quit iTunes.
Mac users: Hold down the Option key while you open iTunes.
Windows users: Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes.
Click Choose library.
Choose your original iTunes Library and click Choose (Mac Users) or Open (Windows Users). You can now switch back and forth between the different libraries for different iPods.

Need to delete an itunes account

Whether you want to stop yourself or your child from constantly downloading songs, television shows, movies or audiobooks through an iTunes account, you may want to disable it to prevent future downloads.

Consider these methods to cancel an iTunes account or hinder its future use.
Contact Apple customer service by sending an email through the Contact Us link at the bottom of the Apple.com iTunes support page.

Let them know you want to cancel an iTunes account and they'll contact you for further information.

However, note that if you choose this option, it may also hinder your ability to access the purchases you've previously made, particularly on computers that weren't authorized before you cancelled the account.

Try to cancel an iTunes account by eliminating the ability to access it on your computer. Log into iTunes and pull down the Store menu.

Click Deauthorize Computer and enter your iTunes account password to disable the use of iTunes on your computer.

Disable the credit card option without having to cancel an iTunes account if you just want to temporarily stop charging purchases or prevent someone with access to your computer and password to download songs or videos.

Just access the Account Information page, click Edit Credit Card and choose "None" and "Done" to remove your card number.

Consider simply changing your password frequently if you'd rather not cancel an iTunes account completely, but want to lock someone else out from making purchases on your credit card.

Since you'll be creating new passwords often, however, be sure to write it down (somewhere where only you will see it) so you won't forget.

Can't log in to iTunes account. Company cancelled my email address and I changed computers.

Change the Default Email on an iTunes Account
If you want to purchase and download items from the iTunes Store, iTunes requires that you create an account.
It uses the email given during registration as your default Apple ID for logging into iTunes services and for sending receipts for purchases.
If your primary email address changes, you can edit your account information to use a new default email address.

Launch iTunes, and then select "Sign In" from the "Store" toolbar menu.
Type your current account credentials and click "Sign In."
Select "View My Account" from the "Store" menu, type your account credentials again and then click "View Account."
Click the "Edit" button beside your Apple ID on the "Account Information" page.

Type the new email you want to use beside "Email," and then click "Done" to change the default email address associated with your iTunes account.

Access an iTunes Account From Another Computer
Your iTunes account allows you to purchase music, videos, and other types of media directly from the iTunes Store, and can be accessed from a number of devices, including your iPhone.
In order to access your iTunes account from another computer, you must enter your account information into the Sign In page of the iTunes program.
Once signed in, you can authorize the computer to play media purchased from the iTunes Store and set up other iTunes-exclusive features, including Home Sharing.

Click "Start" on your Windows PC's taskbar, then click "Programs," "Apple," and "iTunes" to run the program.
For Macintosh computers, open the Applications folder in "Finder" and double-click the "iTunes" icon.
Click the "iTunes Store" tab, then click the "Sign In" button on the right side of the program window.

Type in your registered Apple I.D. email address and password, and click the "Sign In" button.
Click the tab in the upper-right corner of the iTunes Store window with your email address on it, and type in your account password.
Click the "View Account" button to access your iTunes account.
Click the tabs on the right side of the window to access different areas of the account.
Click the "Done" tab to save and exit out of your account settings.
