H700 will pair, but won't connect.

To successfully pair the Motorola 700 with the Centro:
Select Bluetooth from the Home screen.
Select "On".
Under "Visibility", select "Visible".
Now click "Setup Devices".
Click "Hands-free Setup"
On the Motorola earpiece, with the flip-out mouthpiece in the closed position, press and hold the multi button until ring around it glows purple. Flip open the mouthpiece.
Now click "Next" on the Centro's screen.
The Centro should find the Motorola. Hold the Motorola to the right side of the phone if you have difficulty getting the Centro to find it.
Once found, click the Motorola H700 listed in the window and click "OK".
The Centro will ask for the device password. Enter 0000. Be sure that the checkbox for "Add to trusted device list" is checked. Click OK.
The two devices should now be paired to work together and the Motorola's multi button should rapidly blink blue; NOW click "Done".
You will be taken to the Trusted Devices screen.
You will see your Motorola in the list of Trusted Devices. Click on it to highlight it, if it is not already highlighted.
Click the menu drop-down key (located to the right of the ALT key).
You will now see a drop-down at the top of the screen that says "Connect". Click the "palm" center button on your Centro.
NOW the two devices are connected. The phone name will now be bold, and a small Bluetooth icon will appear to the right of it.
When you click the Phone key on your Centro, you will see a tiny blue headphone symbol now at the top right of the screen where the Bluetooth icon used to be.

To use the earpiece:
Flip it open and hang it on your ear.
Dial the number you want to call on the phone.
Press the multi button once and now you should be connected via the earpiece.
To receive a call, when your Centro rings, press the multi button once.

It took me a few hours to figure it out. Hopefully you can do it in a few seconds.

If your Motorola H700 device has been recognized, but still won't work, then you need to manually connect (or force connect as per a previous post) the device to repair the connection. Once you have performed the manual connection, the pairing should function as normal and you do not have to manually connect again.

To manually connect the Motorola H700 to the Samsung Blackjack:
1. From standby screen press Start
2. Scroll and select Settings
3. Scroll and select Connections
4. Scroll and select Headset settings
5. If you have only one headset device you will see your headset listed and highlighted. If you have multiple headsets select the appropriate bluetooth device.
6. Press Menu and select Connect Handsfree.
7. You will get a message asking if you want to recognize the device and for a password to establish a secure connection. The default password for the H700 is 0000.

This should reconnect the device.

Well, I was having the same problem with my H700 that i wouldn't connect to my W880i. the instructions above are helpful. Once you try to connect to your bluetooth, it says "connection failed" so try this method to solve this issue. You have already added H700 to you phone, so close the boom(mic) and press the call button for few seconds until it trys purple and imediately open the boom and press connect from your phone. Your phone will give u a message that H700 is already added and connected, and thus it will automatically connect to your H700. you have to do it serval times in order to fully reboot the H700. I hope this helps!!

Above was helpful when connecting H350 Motorola bluetooth to nokia 6103.....tried 5 times no luck, turned off the bluetooth setting then turned it back (re-boot) and it worked.

Had the same problem with my Nokia 6620 and MOT H700. Found the answer on a Palm Treo site, of all places:

First, Guest, after the master reset, the phone lost its pairing, but the H700 still thinks it is paired. That's why it won't pair again. To force the H700 to pair again you must:
1) close the mic boom
2) hold the call button until it glows purple
3) while still holding the call button, open the mic boom
4) then go through the pairing steps on your phone like normal

Apparently MOT headsets tend to require a "force connect" immediately after pairing in order for them to work. Your phone should have some option in the bluetooth settings menu to connect to a device manually. For my NOK 6620, I select the H700 item in the bluetooth list, click Options and then Connect.

IMMEDIATELY after pairing the H700 (and probably most other MOT headsets), manually connect to it using your phone. The connect should succeed (finally!) and then everything is hunky-dorey from then on. This appears to just be a one-time thing after pairing. I have not had to manually connect the headset since I got it to work.
