What does the DNS error mean(80710102) AND I HAVE COMCAST INTERNET

It seems like the DNS error is generally caused by problems on your ISP's end of the network, but that doesn't mean you can't have a crack at fixing it yourself.

Under your network connection settings try changing the DNS servers to the following numbers (they're free by the way)

Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220

Also, try disabling media server connection as well. These simple steps should, in 90% of cases, fix the problem.

have you tried opening some ports on your router for the ps3?

put this # at DNS 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1 hope that helps

Goto the command prompt bar in the start menu type ' cmd ' then click o.k . A black dos screen will appear type in ' ipconfig/all ' and it will the the two servers you need under dns servers but if your doing a wired connection to your ps3 then you need to manually configure your dns on the custom method of setting up your internet connection on your ps3 as if this is auto config that will give you a dns error. I get this problem a lot and i just reset my modem and that usually fixes it for me or if it doesn't work it may just be a problem with the internet provider.

get your own internet connection. dns error means it's not able to connect to the internet. if it is your own connection, restore your default settings and powr cycle your internet. check with your IT and check your network firewalls/settings
