How do I solve this problem
I have reset router
tried static IP's
used windows XP sp2 fix
used netsh winsock reset catalog
tried wireless and hard wired
this is for a number of users so their routers wouldn't all go at the same time although I advised 1 user to buy another router and everything worked

I experienced the same issue before with my route, try doing these steps im sure this will work somehow. (flush the DNS cache)
How to do it:
If you are using Windows 2000/XP operating sysytem
-Fire up a Command Prompt (Start Menu>Accessories) and execute the command
ipconfig -flushdns
if you get 'could not flush dns' or message saying dns resolver cache could not be flushed.
If it is XP SP2 then go to Start > Run > CMD > type netsh
winsock reset > enter, restart as prompted, if still no connection
then go to Start, Control Panel (Network and Internet Connections then
Network Connections -or- straight to Network Connections, double click
on the Local Area Connection in use (usually the one that says
Connected) and pick Support. Try the Repair button after Winsock fix.
Use that winsock fix only if you are using SP2.
go to "start, control panel, administration tools, services, then look
for DNS Client, and make sure it's started, and set to manual.
Depending on what router or connection you are using try these steps.

2.Right click on the Connection you want to connect to
and hit Properties
3.Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6
4.Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 and hit Properties.
5.Ensure Obtain an IP address automatically is checked
Ensure Obtain a Dns Server automatically is checked as well
6.Exit out of everything
7.Go to Start/All programs/Accessories/Right click on Command Prompt and hit Run as Administrator then click continue.
8. Type: netsh int ip reset reset.log
Type: netsh int ip delete arpcache
Type: netsh winsock reset
Type: ipconfig /flushdns
9. Restart your computer.
10. If you are still unable to access the internet you may have a virus I would suggest running an Antivirus. I hope this Helped Good Luck
I have a similar problem with my Linksys G router. It is putting out a weird ip address through DHCP. While this does not fix the problem, setting up a static ip eliminates it for now. If I ever find out the cause, I will post it.
Try dong a TCP/IP stack repair
Start -> Run -> Type CMD to open a command prompt.
To reset the Winsock type this into the commnad prompt:
netsh winsock reset catalog
Next
To reset TCP/IP type this into the command prompt:
netsh int ip reset reset.log
Then reboot your pc and see if that helps. If not let me know.
