Panasonic 42 inch Viera Pixel Distortion

My Panasonic 42 inch Viera is flashing random RED patches of pixels especially on black areas on the picture. This occurs no matter the input source. Anyone know what is wrong and how it can be fixed and how much it might cost.

Thanks

We have the TH-42PX70A which has the same problem. It comes and goes..It is only 2yrs old, warranty has run out. The moving red pixels are on the black and the cyan pixels are on the white. It will go away for months and then return for a few days. It is not an antenna problem as the signal is still there.I am taking it in today for the tech to look at, but I turned it on this morning and it is fine. So I wont be able to show him.. (took pics though).Everyone says they are the "best" and all that, but every now and then you get a lemon. If it turns out to be too costly, I will buy a new one and it wont be a Panasonic.

My Panasonic 42 inch plasma tv randomly shuts off. when turned on it flashes 6 time pauses for 4 and flashes 6 times. Modal # is TH-42PZ85U

Check out the charts to determine the faulty part. Likely, there is a burned out component and it needs the board needs to be replaced.

Is it true that when one pixel goes out, others are soon to follow?

No, that's not true at all. Each pixel is its only little device - one pixel does not effect another. The pixels work together to make a picture, but are all controlled separately. If your pixel is "stuck" and not dead, then you may be able to fix it! A stuck pixel is red, blue, green or white, while a dead pixel will show up as black. Sometimes a stuck pixel can be fixed by covering a pencil eraser with a cloth and pushing down on the pixel gently while the TV is on. So, in summary - no, one bad pixel doesn't mean any other pixels are bad. Hope that helps, Alex

Samsung HPR4272X/XAA has 2 black bars going from top to bottom.

I really do not know there is the "Stuck Pixel Fixer programs" I think that Program Breakdown another IC. For this issue is absolutely the Plasma display panel have problem. You shall exchange it.

We had a vertical line about 2 inches wide and going from top to bottom on our 42 inch viera that was a light green-barely interfering with picture. Now that area has gone black while the rest of the tv...

It is either the plasma panel itself or a connection problem, either way it will need to get serviced. Suggest you find receipt and phone Panasonic.
Cheers.

42" Panasonic Plasma - Vertical red stripe 6" from left side

We originally had a red stripe roughly 3" wide running vertically on the ride edge area of our Panasonic 52" Viera plasma tv. It has now been joined by a solid black stripe of the same width running from the top to the bottom. Living in Germany and purchased at local PX long enough ago that the warranty is likely expired. Now what?

Blue snowy pixel areas on my plasma

some of these panels were mis-calibrated from the factory after not aging long enough. Let the TV run for atleast 2 hours and adjust the Vs and Vscan voltages. When it is blue in the left I have found generally the Vs is about 10 volts too high.
