If printer crashes and bangs then their is the problem with the encoder strip it might have been broken or misaligned you need to look for the transparent tape in the printer which is encoder strip ......Or get it replaced this will solve the problem ...

Printing problem (local and network) only with pdf

PDF files are designed to be small on the computer and are uncompressed when sent to the printer. The size of the PDF is filling up the memory on the print server causing it to crash.

make sure you have the latest printer drivers.

heres a work around if the drivers didn't fix it. check "print as an image" from within printing options in Adobe Acrobat (you gotta go to "advanced" to find that check box), and then it works fine.

My printer makes a loud banging noise when trying to print.

We solved the problem by buying a new printer. We figured for the cost of service, it was more economical to replace our older printer. Sad that these printers go to waste. Thanks

A loud banging noise from inside - as it adjusts post printing

I'd check that there's nothing that's fallen into the rear paper feed that is now causing the rollers to jam and release with the bang you mention.

If you're feeling brave I'd try holding the printer upside down (get a friend to help you and watch out for the scanner sliding out!) and give it a bit of a shake to see if anything drops out.

Canon i860 error codes

Try this: With your i860 printer turned ON, press and hold the I/O switch then pull off the power cord. This will turn off your printer. But without lifting your finger on the I/O switch put back your power cord. the I/O switch will blink for a second and will go off, then turn-on your printer again and see if it works.

Power on problem

There is an encoded registration strip just behind the print head near the drive belt. This needs to be clean and obviously attached. If the strip is too dirty or not present the head does not know where it is and crashes into the ends of the rail. If the strip is clean and located correctly but the head is still crashing around, then the optical sensor on the rear of the head may be faulty. This is usually uneconomical to repair. Get a service manual from http://www.TheserviceManualShop.com as it shows where the encoder is located and how it is threaded through the head etc
