If the outer screen got a scratch or cleaned with the wrong thing it is possible to remove it and just use the other two screens--yes you will have glare if it is not there--the inner two screens deal with picture-if either of them is damaged you have real problems--

Usually someone cleans the outer screen with something that streaks or discolors it--hard to watch once it is there and almost impossible to clean streaks away.
