This means one of 3 things

1. Bad Ram module
2. The Ram module is not plugged in correctly or all the way in.
3. The Ram could be incompatible.

Your PC is compatible the follwing types of ram...
DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR333 • 2.5V • 64Meg x 64
or

DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 32Meg x 64

Upgraded ram 1gb wont boot hp 510 mobo 30C4

If you added another 512Mb RAM to increase the RAM to 1Gb then the new 512Mb memory stick could be incompatible with the original 512Mb or it could be faulty.
Use RAM that is same make and speed as the original RAM.
Remove both RAM and just insert the new 512Mb into your laptop and see if the laptop boots up, if not then the RAM could be faulty.

1gb pc2700 333mhz ddr wont work

You may have just bought a stick of gum! This ram could have been sold on e-bay for any number of reasons. It's not likely that you can get your money back. Sometimes even identical appearing ram won't function with original ram. Check with tigerdirect.com on the web for ram and other computer parts. Good luck!

Could I use 2 monitors on a HP Compaq D530 if I upgraded the graphic card? If so what card should I buy? Thank youy

You can buy any card that meets your specs of your computer. Make sure it has duel output on the video card itself. If you plan on running two monitors you should pick up a minimum 256 card that does not pull from your system ram.

HP Pavillion dv6700 - black screen

Do the following without the battery inserted.

Let the computer sit with no battery for 24 hours. Do not put the battery in at all. Try using your original memory stick ONLY, with no hard drive and see if it will POST. If it does, insert the hard drive and try again. Could be the new memory...

Another thing you can try is reseating the processor. Turn the ZIF screw, take the processor out (WATCH THE PINS!!) and put back in GENTLY. Leave the memory in the computer, hard drive removed, try to power on.

These models have been known for bad motherboards. Contact HP and arrange to send it in. If you do enough digging on HPs website, you'll find the service advisory.

I just recently upgraded my Compaq HP D530 CMT VGA card to a NVidia GForce4 4200. I'm running Windows XP Professional. This is an Intel 4, 2.8GHz, 40GB Harddrive, 1GB Memory. For an older computer I really...

You can put 4 gig of ram in your machine but be aware that XP will only recognize and use 3 gigs of it. If you have (2) one gig sticks and (2) 512 mb sticks that would be the best setup for you...you won't be wasted your bucks that way, unless you want to step up to Vista or Windows 7, then the OS will recognize all 4 gigs which is the limit for that MOBO.

Blue Screen of death

According to this link, the memory of Compaq Evo N610c can be upgradable to 1024 mb.

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11382_div/11382_div.HTML

Memory Upgrade for Compaq Evo N610C, the Compaq Evo N610C takes the PC2100 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type, and comes installed with of Memory. You can upgrade your Compaq Evo N610C to up to a maximum of 1.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with standard Memory installed. For best system performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your system. (Souce: http://www.memorystock.com/memory/CompaqEvoN610C.html)

So you have to install 512mb memory module on each slot to make up 1024mb of memory.

Did you install 512mb memory module on each slot or did you just install 1GB memory module in one slot?

Try to go back to 256mb RAM and see if you will have the same blue screen error. If you did not receive any blue screen, try to add memory into it or just insert 512mb first and then oserve again if you will have the blue screen error.
