I was setting up my new digital lifestyle flat screen tv and i lost the sound. it was working, but i cant get the sound back
Try unplugging it for a few and starting over, check your connections. If that does not help it is probably broken. This brings you to the bigger problem, It is no mystery why all of these new "no name" TV manufactures are so much cheaper than 1st tier products. Some of it is quality, but the biggest reason you spent a few to maybe several hundred less than the Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, Mitsubishi, etc. is after the purchase support. If your TV is broken chances are it is not getting fixed. There is no such thing as Digital Lifestyle replacement parts, service centers, service manuals, etc. If a company can build a TV then wash their hands of it they can sell it much cheaper. Name brand manufactures produce original replacement parts for years, they set up authorized service centers all over the country and they publish service info for their servicers. You might take it in somewhere for a look, sometimes it is something simple or basic electronic circuit failures that can be repaired with common generic components, but if you need something specific, it won't happen. You say it is "new" if it turns out broken and you can return it, do it, go smaller with a name brand or spend the extra few hundred bucks. Don't get me wrong name brands break too, the difference is they are repaired and you move on rather than throwing it away and buying again. People are discovering there is nothing more expensive than a cheap TV. Good Luck

Sometimes after viewing a movie played on my laptop and seen on the LCD TV via VGA port, I will lose the sound on the TV upon switching back to HDMI from my COX DVR. This seems to be an intermittent problem, however.
This Digital Lifestyle LCD TV also is having problems turning on when the power button is pressed. The red light on the front panel turns green but no picture. I sometimes have to turn the tv on and off several times to finally get a picture on screen.
Right before I lost my sound, it began to elicit a crackling sound, then I lost signal to program, but had to re-program the channels four times before it was set up, but still no sound. Once again, I have neither sound or channels. The menu bar states that it is a weak signal or no signal.
Moved digital tv yesterday, set up again and was working. Now lost sound, although can get sound through the dvd player.
send it back!!! i have had my tv just over a year i ignored all of the small problems at first. little did i know that the tv was coming apart on the inside. I later found out that the parts are cheaply saudered together. and come loose after a year. i have no picture on my screen now and i have looked on line and there are alot of people who have encountered the same issue. and the biggest suprise of all is the company tech told me there was a defect in the tv but they werent going to repalce it and hung up
shut off
