Our kettle just stopped working this morning. Light is on, but nothing is happening. Any suggestions?

The only thing you haven't tested is the switch, and that is the item that is most likely to fail.

First check the power cord and if that is good it will be time to take the kettle apart and trace and test the internal wiring.

You will find it's cheaper to replace the kettle as your repair will cost as much as a new one.

There is a therm o guard in there looks like a bullet. anything that has a heating element has one. mouser electronics sells them.

Maybe you have the same problem as this kettle...
Will not heat water

This usually happens when the overheat-cutout is activated (for example after turning on the kettle with little or no water).
Look on the bottom or sides of the kettle for any 'reset' like switches or buttons. Usually this consists of a 'hole' in which you have to insert a paperclip or pen.

suspect kettle heating element is defective. if the light did not come on then it could also be the thermal switch which may be sticking. if the product is relatively new you should still have warrenty, recommend contacting your vendor about this problem. Kenwood have a very good customer service network.
