Meridian 9516cw desk phone in continuous"Please wait"preboot mode

I have a Meridian 9516cw. It was disconnected , then reconnected. It now has a continuous "Please Wait" with no dialtone or keypad function when plugged into AC. It it possible to reset this phone? There is no obvious reset button. What do you suggest to get this phone functional/ Thanks for your help.

Same issue. One day I walk in my den and the phone is at Please wait..., the Handsfree/Mute LED is blinking, and there's a tick TOCK sound (fainter tick when LED is off, louder TOCK when the LED is on). Tried unplugging for hours, 'raking' the buttons, unplugging all cords. It is fairly old and perhaps the logic board has failed.

Not sure which system you have but it sounds to me like you are looking to make a group that contains all your phone extensions. It's like calling an extension number for a specific phone but in this case it would be a group extension number that contains a list of all your phones. It may be called a "hunt group" and you would want to set it up so all phones ring simultaneously, not in order. Then you program a key on all your phones to call that group extension number.

Sounds like a stuck button.

Do what I call the rake... swipe at the keypad over and over, look to see if there is any button lower or depressed on the keypad or buttons.

Someone may have spilled something on it (cola, coffee), and the set may require to be taken apart if there is a stuck button.

First you should trying to disconnect from your network and reconnect again. If the problem still persist, proceed to turn off your phone, and turn it back on. If the problem continues, the problem might be in your router or modem. Restart both of those, and wait. Then disconnect from the network, then reconnect.

I have a 9516CW and I can't hear anything on the receiver.

Replace the curly cord or the handset, you can test both with any other phone.

We are changing office locations...can I bring our meridian phone system with us? I heard of meridian phones being run through a computer, would this apply to us...could we do this instead of transfering...

You need to take the phone system box with you. Also if you have voicemail, that box needs to move with you. Depending on how simple or complex your phone system is, there could be several other devices that need to move with you. There could be a fax switch, analog adapter, power supply for front desk cap(central answer position) button module, paging equipment, music on hold, and/or message on hold unit to name some of the more common auxilliary equipment. My advice is to have someone with knowlegde of phone systems to look at where the phone system equipment is before disconnecting and moving. If you have ip based phones, there may be a way to run them from a computer, but it would take some specialized software.

Meridian M7310; just installed replacement phone (used); line 3 disconnects when answered. Lines 1 and 2 work fine. They are in the loop. Line 3 is dedicated fax incoming but can be used as outgoing phone.

Normal 0 Hello, Gary.

Disconnect power and cables from all phones and faxes on the line 3. Wait 15 minutes and reconnect the line again, one at a time. See if the Meridian works. If not, it could be faulty.

Hope this helps.

Meridian phone won't hang up.

Check the handset cable and make sure it is not plugged into the headset port. You should also try picking up the handset while on a call, make sure your HF button is not lit, wait a couple of seconds, then hang up the handset. If that doesn't work, then you should try looking in programming to see if there is a problem there.

Can't turn on

Try restoring it...here's how...
  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
  2. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
  3. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPhone. When you reconnect the USB to iPhone, the device should then power on.

Note: If you see the message "Charging... Please Wait" , let the device charge for at least 10 minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again.
  4. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
  5. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button andiTuneswill display the recovery mode message:

If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPhone and repeat steps 3-6.

I recommend restoring the old non-hacked firmware. To do this, you will need to put it in Recovery Mode, and then iTunes will ask to restore it.

Instructions:
1. Verify you have iTunes 7.5 or later. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone or iPod touch.
3. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
4. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting USB cable. When you reconnect USB, the device should then power on.
*Note: If you see the message "Charging... Please Wait" or you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least 10 minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again.
5. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
6.When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message.
*If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPhone and repeat steps 3-6.
7. Click OK, and restore device.
