I am having a problem with the date/time. When I record, the date and time don't show up. I've set and reset the time and date a million times but it still won't show up on the touch panel or in the view finder. it's there for the first 5 sec when I turn the camera on. It's available on the screen in play/edit mode only. When I capture the video onto DVD the date and time are not recorded on the tape as it isn't displayed on screen when played back on dvd I've been using Hi8 and digital8 tapes. Thanks! PS> Previous solution by TOYOSKY did not cure the problem!!!!

Well, I'm trying to decipher this. Why does the recording in DVR revert to the default (date/time???) when the light goes off and comes back on.
I'm guessing you are trying to say time, not date, maybe day?
The DVR is trying to remember when a show comes on and record it, based on your settings. Usually shows come on at a specific time. DVRs usually update their scheduled recordings based on updated programming guide information. If you are constantly unplugging or causing your receiver to otherwise restart, most receivers will download an updated guide upon getting power back or restarting (DVRs themselves not having any idea how long they've been without power, download a new guide just in case after you unplugged them you moved to Arizona). During this time, the recording you set is showing the original time you set it up, because until the guide is downloaded, it has no idea that its wrong.
My best advice, even if I'm wrong about our language barrier here, stop unplugging your receiver. Leave it plugged in and powered at all times.
Hope you read this message. I just noticed your message today on this site. I bought an Elonex 705EB for my mum and had the same problem. It's not pressing the select key that changes the time. You must correct the time then press Menu button on yes (I had to press twice in row before it worked). I don't know why it works different from the manual. I found this out through a lot of trial and error!
this camcorder has a built in rechargeable battery for the memory of the date and time, if you do not use it for more than three months, it will discharge all the way; to recharge, you need to plug camera with ac power for 24 hours and the camera turned off. this should charge the internal battery complete.
That will be a problem from the text side of the broadcast, the clock is set from the text transmission, ( in other words a problem from the transmitter ) possibly due to digital switchover or work on the transmitters. One possible solution would be to turn off auto clock setting, and/or auto summer time adjustment.
I found it on the manual, it was in programming section!
Date/Time
NOTE: Time set on handset will be transferred to the base unit automatically.
1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
2. Press the menu button to go to the main menu and use cid/vol (3or4) button to scroll to Date/Time.
3. Press menu button to enter the menu. Year 2006 shows in the display.
4. Use the touch-tone pad to enter the last two digits of the current year (range: 00 to 99).
5. Press menu button to save the year setting and proceed to date setting.
6. Date 01/01 shows in the display. Use the touch-tone pad to enter two digits for current month and day respectively.
7. Press menu button to save the month/date setting and proceed to time setting.
8. Time 12:01p shows in the display. Use the touch-tone pad to enter four digits for current time and use cid/vol (3or4) button to toggle between "p" (pm) and "a" (am).
9. Press menu button to save the setting. Saved shows in the display.
NOTE: If you subscribe to Caller ID service, the current date/time is set automatically when you receive your first CID record and will override manually set date/time.
This problem don´t have solution. Please request to Aiptek a FIRMWARE revision.
Another serious problem is that the cancorder don´t have the PAUSE function whem recording, resulting in a lot of CLIPS for the same movie. I did in contact with the manufacturer, waiting for a solution of this problem, maybe a firmware upgrade.
The manual is available for download here. (It takes a while to show up, as it is a large manual.) Step by step instructions for setting up date, time, and other user settings in Chapter 3.
Hi,
Is there an option To Save Settings, after setting the time-date ?
Most devices usually have a small internal battery or memory chip that stores this information. however there are also devices that when power is removed completely. i.e a power failure or switched off at the mains, time and date settings have to be reset.
Hope this solves your problem.
