I have an EIZO T962 CRT 21 inch monitor with bright screen. I can't adjust brightnes with conventional means ( adjusting via buttons). In the past I correct this problem on Sony trinitron 19 inch monitor with correction of G2 value on Eprom, using WINDAS utillity. I've tried same thing on EIZO, because it uses 21 inch trinitron tube, but tere is no EIZO model monitor in the utility. How can I adjust brightnes on my monitor?

CHECK FOR DAMAGED RESISTORS ON BOARD NEAR HIGH VOLTAGE AND ALSO ON CRT SOCKET, ITS A COMPONENT PROBLEM, RECTIFY IT..CHANGE THE DAMAGED COMPONENT, ALSO CAPACITORS IF POSSIBLE..

There are two buttons on a big black block of plastic call FBT-known as flyback transformer.One button for adjustment for brightness and darkness of the CRT tube screen the other button for the crt tube screen focus.U can easily do adjustment with a flat head screw driver.
if you look further down this page you will see the function button, when over brightnes press, this button and adjust from there, press it again to save, alternatly you can change the brightness in windows using settings.
There are a few things that can cause this. The two most frequent:
(a) Has the monitor or computer been moved? The connector may be loose or slightly "off" of the port on the video card.
(b) If that's not the case, does it happen all the time? It's possible that one of the color 'guns' is off or malfunctioning - which means, essentially, a dead monitor. A 15" CRT just isn't worth fixing these days.
The little buttons beneath the monitor, unfortunately, do nothing for color adjustment - just brightness, contrast, and the usual positioning controls.
Find yourself a dark room or wait for the night to come. The darkest monitor adjustment could somehow reveal some light when there are no other light source available.
You may also hook a conventional CRT monitor and make your changes (such as bringing your computer back to its original settings). The darkest adjustment in CRT monitor could still render discernible displays.
To prevent serious damage and extend the life of your monitor you need to adjust the main brigthness control of it. it is of the LOPT/Flyback transformer inside of your monitor!
check also for cold SOLDER joints on the main pcb and also on the crt neck Board.
I have/had same problem. I have ATI Radeon display adapter and in driver settings there was adjustment for brightness. I adjusted that to minimum and now the brightness is pretty good (still little bit too bright, monitor setting 0%).
