I had that problem the first time I tried to wind a bobbin. What a mess. The next time I let the thread run through my finger and thumb before reaching the bobbin. I had to do the same on a previous Kenmore.

I've also found that the heavier Bernina bobbins don't 'jump' around.

I have a Janome 6260QC it shows an error code of two reversed brackets. what does that mean,

If the symbol looks like ] [, then this isn't generally an error message. The machine is in bobbin wind mode. Move the bobbin winder spindle to the left. If the spindle is all the way to the left, then you have a problem with the bobbin winding mechanism below the bobbin winder spindle slot. The sewing machine isn't correctly getting the message of where the spindle is.

The Janome 6260 Quilter's Companion manual is available from Janome. The current link is https://www.janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/retired/computer/inst-book-6260qc.pdf . See page 11 (13 of the PDF).

I hope this helps.

Janome excel 5018 decor needle goes up and down when I'm trying to fill the bobbin

Usually, the needle bar moving means that the bobbin winder spindle (with the bobbin) wasn't moved all the way to the right. If you moved the spindle, then there may be a damaged part inside the sewing machine below the spindle. (The spindle may not be engaging the winding mechanism which stops the needle bar.) I've found the bobbin winder is still available at one parts store: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbin-winder-janome-653508015.aspx . However, there may be other damage inside the machine that could be involved.

See https://www.manualslib.com/manual/994905/Janome-Decor-Excel-5018.html?page=24#manual for the pictures of moving the bobbin winding spindle.

I hope this helps.

Bobbin winder not winding cotton on spool a part has fallen in side machine how do l take casing off Janome 480 quilter thank you

Am unable to help with your machine but you can purchase a stand-alone bobbin winder called Sidewinder for about $30. Just be sure to verify that your machine bobbins will work on it. The one I have will use either a power cord or batteries. Great little machine because it saves wear-n-tear on the machine plus you can wind bobbins without unthreading the machine.

Bobbin winder is engaged and shows up on screen correctly, but sewing mode is still engaged and bobbin winding keeps stopping.

check the drive knob on the end of the machine
it should be loose when winding a bobbin
if it is tight or seized then that will drive the needle

I have a Janome 10000 and I am trying to wind some bobbins so i can get started on a project, however the winder is winding the thread very loosely and I know it will just knot up if I try to use it that...

Double check the threading of the machine when winding the bobbin. Or as a last hope measure when winding tensiojn the thread thru you fingers just before its at the winder.
