Panasonic phone system, won't release the phone line

We had a power outage. when the power came back, my panasonic corless phone system kx-tg5673 went to dialtone automatically even tho it was off. It then then hung up the line and wouldn't release it even when i pushed off both on the handset and on the base. It will only release the line if I unplug the phone line.

You might try removing the battery pack and see if that resets the phone. If not, you probably have a component inside the phone that has failed.

On most cordless phones, it is not cost effective to have them repaired.

Panasonic CORDLESS

1st check that the charger is plugged and energized. It should light up when dropping a hanset into the craddle.
2nd Check that the batteries are connected properly inside the handset and that they have the full voltage. Try 1st step again

We have a panasonic cordless telephone # KX-TG5632. Yesterday, we were having some electrical work done and now that the power is back on, our corless phone does not work. There is power to the phone but...

Does the phone base receiver also have power? If so, then it sounds like a phone wire may have been cut. How extensive was this electrical work? If an electrician cut your phone wire by mistake they should take care of the problem at no charge.

To eliminate any problems with your cordless phone, try plugging in a standard phone where your cordless unit is to see if the line works.

HELP! power outage problem

Your burglar alarm panel, shorts the phone line when it sounds off, while it is auto dialing out. So that is why no phone.

My strong recommendations is to use a UPS on all of the items that are on the phone line. Problem should be solved.

You don need big ones either. Small ones will do just fine. I have them too.
