I have the exact same problem with a WD62827 television. Taking the lamp out and putting it back in seems to work sometimes, but mostly not. I have a hypothesis that there is an issue with the internal power supply in the television driving the television to turn the picture off to protect itself. Any ideas? Thanks.

how do you reset the lamp? i just installed a new lamp and can't get any picture or sound at all.

  • Anonymous Mar 04, 2008

I had a technician out and he conclusively determined the problem to be the electrical ballast that regulates current to the lamp. The part is on order, but the tech had a test harness with him and he was able to circumvent the bad ballast with his own and fixed the problem. I am handy and electrically savvy, but this looks like a job for a pro.

I have the 57 inch 1080p model that I purchased on 9/11/06. Since that time I've been through 4 lamps. Recent research has turned up a lot of people having the same issues, and I even seen one thread about a class action suit mounting.

If I could get this issue fixed and have a bulb that "actually" last 4000 hours I'd be happy. I don't really feel about passing on my problem to someone else by fixing it, and selling it.

I've so far I've heard it could be attributed to the ballast, faulty board, and the comment from Mr NiceGuy about the "3300mf 16v caps on the main power board that are the cause of these problems."

MrNiceGuy: Could you elaborate on this? I realize it's a loaded question since it's not in front of you to look at. I'll take any info I can get at this point. Thanks in advance!!!

There are 2 3300mf 16v caps on the main power board that are the cause of these problems.

My model is WD 62525 have sound but no picture. For serveral weeks the tv would come on with blinking yellow light and then red lamp light would come on. We would unplug and wait a couple minutes and plug...

Hi , make sure you put the cover back on so it can press the switch to let the tv know door has been shut and will allow to light bulb. Also when putting a new bulb in the ballast, which is the board that powers the lamp, sometimes its not able to provide enough power to light it up because it was used to provide a lesser voltage on the old lamp.Make sure you reset the lamp timer I dont know the exact code for it but u can search it on your manual.Hve a blessed weekend!

Bulb is only 2 mo. old. i have sound but no picture. red light is on. tv shuts itself off

step 1. Try pressing reset button. step 2 if step 1 does not work. Remove front cover and lamp door press, defeat the safety switch with a screw to hold the lamp door switch in and check to see if the lamp turns on. If it turns on for up to 10 sec then turns off replace thermal fuse.

No picture or sound mitsubishi 62525

Capacitor failure is the most likely scenario the FMT ans Signal PWB would cause the picture interference and the power pwb would cause the lamp light to turn red and give a 34 code when the device/ input and menu buttons are pressed in together and held for five seconds. That chassis has issues with every board in the chassis having failed capacitors you can get repair kits for the V26 chassis at the follwing link that come with instructions. Your model is the V26 chassis. Heres the link.

Status Light Flashes Red

first did you getthe lamp from miths and if notyou could have bought a bad lamp. you need to get a lamp form mits if you did not buy from them. if you did buy from mits have them replace the lamp it has a 90 day warranty. try hitting the menu and device / input buttons for 5 sec and repost the blink code. it is a 2 digits blink code. (ex. 23 or 33 or 26 like that)

Mitsubishi Projection TV WD-62525

Could be quite a few things wrong. first I would do self test diagnosis and see what error you get, then check that area. It could be a bad Ballast or it could be Fuse F9a09 and the Light Engine. It also could be Caps C9a37 and C9a38. For additional info www.ctechnicians.com
