Hello
Universal remote code for Sylvania TV/VCR Combo is:
0227
Direct Code Entry
Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand
Although you didn't explain what brand of universal remote this was for, all universe remotes have a code search option for this situation. Check the manual for your specific remote control for more details.
Often manufacturers of multiple brands will use the same infrared (IR) codes for all of their brands. For example, Panasonic and Quasar share the same codes as their parent company is Matsushita Industries. In your case Funai is the parent company of Sylvania and the parent company of Magnavox so you might want to try the Magnavox codes before doing a code search. As Funai also manufactures televisions for Toshiba and Sharp, so try those codes as well.
have you considered google-ing your remote to get the codes? You didn't give one important piece of info...what brand is it? You can find it here: http://www.xdiv.com/remotes/
ok i have a sylvania tv/vcr combo, similar problem, here's how i got the directv remote (RC23 & RC32) to operate basic t.v. functions:
-First i found the code that worked for the vcr (20000 in my case). -i programmed "AV1" to 20000, this allowed me to power the tv on/off, change the channels but not operate the volume, so... -after plugging in the 20000 code (with the slelector switch on AV1 still):
1. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the green light under the TV position flashes twice, then release both keys. 2. Using the number keys, enter 9-9-3. (The green light will flash twice after the 3.) 3. Press select
that allowed me to operate the t.v. volume from the remote w/ the selector switch in any position, the only thing is i have to switch to AV1 in order to power off the T.v.
hope this helps in your case
We have a Sylvania 6313CB TV/VCR combo. I bought a universal remote and the code would not work when I tried to program it to the "TV" button using all those possible codes listed in the books. So, on the universal remote, there was a button named "VCR" and when I programmed in the code "0000" all worked. This was a $6.00 universal remote named "One For All" we bought at the Big Lots store.
Specifically, here is what I did:
Turned TV on
Pushed the "VCR" button and light blinked once
Pushed and held the "set" button until it blinked twice
Released the "set" button and entered the numbers "0000"
Pushed the on/off button and it worked including volume, channel up/down and channel change by entering the channel number.
Hope this works for you too.
