Moen Tub Filler Can't Remove Spout

I have a Moen tub filler (Kingsley model) and the diverter won't move up and down. I wanted to take the spout off to see if I could get it fixed. I removed the stem from the top and took off the set screw. I thought that I could then just lift the spout of the stem, but it won't lift off. Is there a trick?

My Moen tub filler/shower plugger stopped working Removed set screw with allen wrench and filler would not come of. Turned counterclockwise with screw driver and it just turned and turned. Finally cut it off with dremel and hack saw to remove and replace. Wear a mask because it will make a mess. It was just straight pipe but fused on after 20 plus years.

It should lift off gently twist as you lift maybe tap spout lightly back and forth with a rubber mallet

I installed a Moen L2353E tub/shower faucet and water won't come out of shower head

Couple of ideas: If you don't get water at all first check to see if the shut-off valves are open. If so, close them and remove and clean the cartridge. If water comes from the spout and not the shower head, make sure the diverter (the handle on the tub spout) moves up when you pull it. If that works, remove and clean the shower head since there might be debris blocking the water flow. Without
more info this is my best guess.

Water flows from shower and tub when it should only be the tub

you need a new diverter valve, actually it's inside of the spout/filler for the tub, a very simple fix. It isn't holding all of the way.

We have installed a moen 82490 one handle tub & shower unit. When we turn on the water you could shower and bath at the same time. If you pull the plug for just a shower the water to the spout stops...

If you pull the silver knob on the tub spout up, the diverter located located inside will redirect water up to the shower head and when lowered it will return the water to the tub spout. It sounds as thought the diverter is not working properly. Hope this helps..

Moen Shower Valve Model L82839 installed: Water comes out of shower head when running bath. Thanks.

Only two possibilities here the diverter tub spout is not open all the way to let water to the tub only or the shower valve is installed up-side-down.

I recently move into a condo that has a Delta single lever Series 1400 single lever bathtub fixture. The bathtub has a shower nozzle that looks like it has been used. I cannot find where there is a button,...

Is there a button on the tub filler? How about the spout on the tub, does it lift up? If there is not a tub spout then it should be shower only, if it has a tub spout it has to have a lifter of some sort, the foto I found showed the little button lifter. Hope this helps.

Moen shower valves are failing

the diverter is stuck. you have to move it up and down to free it up. the diverter is the mechanism attached to the tub spout that switches the water from shower to tub. you may also need a new diverter if fiddling with it doesn't work.
