I own a Symphonic TV Model WF 203 with parental lockout. My spiteful ex locked out everything but G ratings. I have no idea what code was used. Is there a parental lockout over-ride procedure or code?

If its input selection function do not work properly, you have to check to set up the remote control with an other code to your TV. The codes come with the new universal remotes. Yes you can buy a universal remote. Some things on your set might not be able to be accessed though depending on model.

you gotta go into menu of tv--find parental controll-go thru it-take out ratings that are blocked--you can also go to ask.com to unblock just about everything made

Notes (for TV RATING and MPAA RATING):
● You cannot access the setup menu when the
“PROTECTED PROGRAM by ...” message
appears. Move to an unblocked channel
before you hit [MENU].
● When you select a rating and set it to
[BLOCK], the higher ratings will be blocked
automatically. The lower ratings will be
available for viewing.
● When you set the lowest rating to [VIEW],
all other ratings will automatically be available
for viewing.
you have forgotten the code, unplug the power cord
for 10 seconds to restore the access code to
0000.

that's a big problem. sometimes using the 0000 can unlock it but it's not 100 percent.try the trial and error.

Try the remote's "search" feature. If that does not work, then the remote doesn't have a code for that unit.

Initially, I would venture that the Parental Lock has been engaged and was set to the lowest level meaning the TV will not allow any channel to be displayed, they are all blocked.

To remove the parental lock, proceed to the Main Menu display, press on LEFT or RIGHT arrow key till Parental Guide Setting is highlighted. Before you can access, an entry code is required. The factory default is 1225 (that is if it has not been changed). Upon gaining entry, press on UP or DOWN and/or LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to turn any entry in the MPAA-Rating and/or the TV-Rating to show U (unblock). Additionally, it may also be necessary to turn the RATE SETTING to OFF. Exit.

To my knowledge Parental Lock is not disengaged by full hard reset or unplugging from mains.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
