try to go into settings, there should be a setting somewhere in there saying power saver or something, turn that off if its not already. otherwise, there must be something wrong with the screen lighting , like its blown or something.

You have the easiest option to copy all your contacts to your sim card and then copy it back to black berry. In order to do this you simply have to go to your phone book options and in the settgings you will find copy contacts to sim and then put the same sim in black berry and select copy contacts from sim.If your contacts are more than the capacity of your sim then you can select the contacts to copy and you have to do this twice or thrice depending on your sim's memory.

press blackberry button and see if you can find the clock icon. then when you see the clock face on screen press the blackberry button again and you should get a pop up menu with all the alarm settings.
if this doesn't work, the clock should appear when you plug the unit into a charger. then press blackberry again and follow the menus
