Are you sure it's a HD TV? Channel 32 is now a high definition channel so if your TV's not HD you won't see anything. the sound should come through but it's lots quieter. Can you see channel 95? it's also a new HD channel. You should get 31 though,
try this
find the button marked AV and press that until you get the TV channel
or press the AV/TV button again to get the channel for TV reception
what you have done is upset the input mode as to where the signal is selected from--X box ,TV, DVD, wifi etc
If you are in a good reception area and your tv channels are coming fine it does look like a recorder issue, try another HDMI cord just to be safe, now when you tried in the shop was that through a different tv? if that is the case the input signal needs to be checked with another device.
You need to make sure your reception is strong enough to receive digital reception otherwise you will only receive analogue reception and dvd playback ability is normally nothing to do with the TV's reception.
Ensure you have strong reception before doing an auto tune to search for the channels. Good luck.
Hi! I believe you have some concern on how to get good picture on your hd tv. I will be more than glad to assist u.. on your teac hdb841- there is a port connection - ant in, you have to connect the ant cable from your off the air tv antena to the ANT IN of the Teac HDB841. then on the back of your Teac HDB841, you have several output connection there like component, coax, s-video, rca and hdmi. since u have the hdtv u need to use the hdmi or the component cable whiich is the red blue and green then access the menu of the teac hdb841 and do a scan for the local channels.. ur tv should tune in to hdmi if u use hdmi cable or component if u use the red blue and green.. i hope this will fix the problem..
I had the same problem with the same unit when I first bought it a few months ago.
First up remove the DVD. If the TV stations do not appear within a couple of seconds press the "TV" button (top, second from left) on your remote control.
Initially, pls confirm if below is how it is wired using a coaxial cable and not 3cable RCA to RCA:
Charter Digital Cable > DVD/VCR > TV
If yes and your concern is snowy or no signal on the TV screen, might it be that you have to power OFF the DVD/VCR when selecting channels on the TV itself (including when channel setup is being done).
Alternately, you can tune the TV to channel 3 and let the DVD/VCR do the channel selections.
Pls post back results. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
