Why is there water leaking from bottom of refrigerator section of subzero?

Frostless freezers will go into a defrost cycle periodically and the frost that accumulates in the freezer section melts and runs into a pan under the refrigerator section, through a drain hose. If this hose clogs with crud (common) the melt water can't drain and leaks into refrigerator section (or it was designed this way so as to prevent refreezing.) As the drain is clogged, thd water builds up until it overflows to floor level.

You need to locate the drain in bottom of the refrigerator section (usually near the back where its hidden from view) and clear it out. (Use care as its usually only a vinly hose and can be punctured or slipped off its connection).

FRIDGE IS LEAKING LOTS OF WATER UNDER THE CRISPERS

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# GLHT184TJ, is leaking water underneath the crispers. First, make sure the door is closed as well as you are not opening it frequently or for long periods of time. Secondly, make sure all foods and containers are covered. Lastly, make sure that all vegetables have been dried, if you have washed them, before storing them in the crisper drawers. All of the above can cause moisture inside your refrigerator, which can accumulate at the bottom of your refrigerator. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Ice maker leaking

Are you sure it's the ice maker that's leaking? We have this model & ours accumulates a HUGE iceberg in the bottom of the freezer, but the water seems to be coming out of the back, at the bottom of the back panel, where the vents are.

Water dripping from inside of freezer compartment.

The condensate drain has a blockage further down and possibly in one of the turns as it leads down to the pan below your refrigerator. Most times the blockage begins slowly until the opening of the drain hole under the evaporator freezes itself shut. Below is a link to some solutions I have collected over a period of time. Also has a short movie2.gif that makes the repair look simpler. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are caused by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water keeps dripping under the fridge.

In a frost-free refrigerator/freezer the frost that would normally accumulate on the inside wall of the freezer is removed by heaters imbedded in the freezer's walls. Periodically these heaters are turn on to melt the frost which then exits the freezer as liquid water through a drain in bottom. This water accumulated in a pan underneath the refrigerator and is supposed to be removed by evaporation. If the flow of melted frost from the freezer is greater than the evaporation rate in the pan then the pan will overflow and you will get a pool of water on your floor. A bad seal on the freezer door will allow more frost to form inside. Also if you leave the freezer door open a lot you will accumulate more frost. The evaporation rate in the pan can be affected by the ventilation around it. If the vents on the bottom of your refrigerator are clogged with dust it will decrease the evaporate rate in the pan. In addition, many refrigerators have a fan the pulls air around the pan. If this fan has stopped working the evaporation rate in the pan will also decrease.

Water accumulating in bottom of freezer and leaking onto floor

Yes the drain is clogged and the water that supouse to go through became ice so it make it worse.Put hot water in the drain hole until it runs through,it'll go to an evaporative pan on top of the compresor to keep it warm and vaporize the water.

Water inside bottom of freezer.

Water accumulation in the freezer more commonly points to the ice maker. Over a period of time, water entering the ice maker can slowly freeze to the point it provides a small restriction and prevents a portion of the water from entering the ice maker. The plastic spout/tube could also have either cracked or shifted and is allowing a small amount of water to leak into the freezer.

Our Whirlpool top freezer unit is leaking water into the refrigerator. The model number is ET21NKXGW01 and at the top of the inside of the fridge, water is draining out into the fridge. The defrosting...

We were able to fix the freezer water leak. We unscrewed the false freezer floor and the inside back panel. Ice had accumulated on the freezer floor and the defrosting drain was frozen. We removed the ice by using a blow dryer then poured boiling hot water onto the frozen drain hole. The frozen water in the drain pipe hole eventually melted and the water released into the defrosting drip pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. Problem solved. We no longer have water leaking into the refrigerator.
