My Thomson 40kw611s will not work when I try my remote. The light flashes on the switch and it stays in standby mode. It is not the batterys,fuse or anything. Can you help?

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

Possible that this is a protection shut down that show up. The processor does not switch the main +B as there are errors in the main board. So remove power plug and look for possible visible damage on the board for leaked capacitors.
if so there is short on the board and so there is no feedback to the processor and so is shut down. use a multimeter to check for shorts in circuit.

well first of all if anything happens when you push the button then the button works! I think you should leave this one to a professional technician. There is a circuit problem that will require advanced knowledge.

this is an error code and directs the service engineer to where to lookfor the fault. I recomendyou contact a compertant service enginner to evaluate this fault for you as there are not much the layman can do.

the flashing red light is an error code to assist the service engineer to diagnose the fault .the flashing is normally in 2 groups like 2 flashes then a pause and say 5 flashes

Usually to fix most odd problems on the Thomson digi box you should do a hard disk format every couple of months, select menu, setup, help,
press green button on remote
this shows advanced menu, press blue button, warning should show,
press green button to proceed
takes about 2mins you lose all recorded programs

If the problem is the box stays at red, and won't switch on,
pull the mains plug wait a few secs then push and hold the the standby
button on the main box (not remote) then insert mains plug, as soon as the
red light flashes release the standby button and very quickly press
menu and OK in that order, don't hang about, it has to be done very quickly
I had to do it several times before I got it right, this loads a preloaded firmware
and the box will come alive again the box will upload new firmware in a couple of hours.

I fount out that at the high voltage big black thint there is a spark. if you take som tape and tabe the ferit it wil work.

well when the blue light is on and ur tv is on standby, just use the channel changing button, simple!

Completely remove the battery and unplug the power cord for a few minutes. Reinsert battery and power up. You can also hit F8 when starting and see if you can boot into safe mode.
