Fault 4-361
Here is the Diagnostics.
04-361 DRUM MOTOR DRIVE FAIL
EXPLANATION
Poor Drum Motor rotation.
Refer to BSD: CH9.1 CH9.1
Procedure
Remove the Drum ASSY (Y/M/C/K), execute DC330 [004-003].
Does the Drum Motor rotate?
Yes No
Between Drum Motor J210-4 (+) GND (-)
Is the voltage +5VDC?
Yes No
Using the wire network from Chapter 7, check the +5VDC circuits up to Drum Motor J210-4. (WN7.3.6 +5VDC-2)
Between Drum Motor J210-6 (+)GND (-)
Is the voltage +24VDC?
Yes No
Using the wire network from Chapter 7, check the +24VDC circuits up to Drum Motor J210-6. (WN7.3.13
+24VDC-3)
Execute DC330 [004-003].
Between Drum Motor J210-1 (+)GND (-)
Is the voltage 0 VDC?
Yes No
Execute DC330 [004-003].
Between MCU PWB J407-B1 (+) GND (-)
Is the voltage 0 VDC?
Yes No
Check for broken wires or bad connections from Drum Motor J210-1 to MCU PWB J407-B1, and if there
are no problems, change the MCU PWB. (PL5.4).
Check for broken wires or bad connections from Drum Motor J210-1 to MCU PWB J407-Bq
Execute DC330 [004-003].
Between Drum Motor J210-2 (+) GND (-)
Is the frequency between 1KHz and 1.3KHz?
Yes No
Execute DC330 [004-003].
MCU PWB J407-B3 (+) GND (-)
Change Drum Motor. (PL1.1).
CAUSE:
Two causes have been identified:
1. Binding components within individual Imaging Units can produce enough torque resistance to prevent the CMY Imaging Unit Drive Motor from starting
2. A damaged Imaging Unit Mounting Rail (PL 4.2 Items 6 or 7 in the Phaser 7750 Service Manual) can cause increased gear drag through a misalignment of the diametrical pitch diameters between the drive and driven gears.
