Hi, if the drum is full of water or not fully empty, this will prevent the spin from working.
If you have a drain filter, see if it's blocked.
You may have a blocked drain pump, a block in the outlet pipe or the drain pump is failing.
All of the above should be simple to check and cheap to repair.
Hope this helps

My kenmore top load washing machine washes but wont drain or spin

The spinning cycle may be detecting that your tub is unbalanced and will not proceed. Check that it starts and fails when the tub is spinning slowly. Otherwise you may have a faulty drain relay or debris is plugging the drain out hose.

Washer does not spin cycle, why?

In top load washers, if the machine goes through the cycles and then just stops at the spin cycle and leaves you with no noise and a tub full of water more than likely the lid switch is bad and not completing the circuit for cycle to continue. This is a safety precaution to prevent injury by reaching in the machine while at high speed spin. If the machine is getting to the spin cycle and still turning slowly but not draining the water, the pump is probably the culprit, either being locked up or in most cases something like a sock, etc. is stuck in it preventing it from turning. This is usually indicated by a humming sound during the spin/drain section with no water draining.

Kenmore series 80 washer won't drain after wash cycle

Try the 'drain' portion of a few of the other cycles (heavy, perm. press, delicates) and see if it will drain/spin there. You can also try advancing the timer slowly through the 'spin' portion to see if it kicks in anywhere.

If it will rinse and spin in the other cycles, you most likely have a bad timer.

Hope this helps.

Makes buzzing noise and won't spin or drain

Sounds like something is stuck in the drain pump.  If nothing is stuck in the pump replace the pump.  It won't spin until it drains, so fixing the drain problem will fix the spin.  You can get at the drain pump by taking off the bottom panel.
