How can i reset the drum on al 800 sharpgrayscale

The Sharp AL1631 takes a Sharp AL 100TD cartridge (hi-yield), or a Sharp AL 110TD cartridge (standard yield). IBS still has them, there phone number is 800-8810226.

The front operational panel drops down, exposing the toner cartridge and the drum cartridge. The toner is the uppermost one. for more see:

The red light that looks like an empty cylinder on the Sharp AL 1631 Grayscale Copier panel is the "drum replacement required" indicator. The "cartridge replacement" indicator is represented by 6 dots forming a triangular shape.
The drum replacement indicator lights up when there are about 1000 copies left until its end of life. It is only when the indicator starts blinking that the drum really needs replacement.
The part number for the drum is AL-100DR.

press the following keys in this order:

1. Clear Key (far right key on panel)
2. Exposure Key (far left key on panel)
3. Clear Key (far right key on panel)
4. Exposure Key (far left key on panel)

once the panel goes blank make your display show

• 24 then press your start key
• then 7 press start
• press C one time
• 20 press start
• 1 press start

Then press C until the copier restarts.

Lines on copies can come from the optict area, charge grid and comb or the fusing roller. Stop the copy halfway through the cycle and see where the line starts to appear. If you see it as much as you do the rest of the print, it is either optical or in the drum charge unit.

Clear / density select / clear / density select

scroll to 24 and press enter.restart and away you go

you may have removed the toner receiver strip.you have to removed the drum from the assembly.you can remedy that with .5 inch masking tape.

Check the machine for a **** or dust glass above the drum.
Check and clean coronas, the wires and shells may be dirty reducing charge.
Run a few white copies, to check of the toner / carrier ratio is low.

Try to reset the error code by pressing : C exp1 C exp1 14 start. if the problem still occur then you should change the heater lamp

Hi, to reset drum light follow this sequence: press cancel, exposure, cancel, exposure. Display goes blank, enter 24, print, 07 print, cancel cancel. Cheers
