Logitech QuickCam Communicate MP - black screen

  1. Either one of these image sizes:
    • Small image size: 160 x 120
    • Large image size: 320 x 240
  2. RGB, I420, or IYUV formats. (Each is fine; we recommend RGB 24.)
  3. Microsoft DirectX version 9.0
To get this information, click here to download a Microsoft application that checks to see if your webcam device meets these requirements.
To make it easy, when you’re asked where to Save the program, just save it on your Desktop.
Once it’s downloaded, here’s what to do:
  1. Double-click the amcap.exe file on your desktop.
    • If you have more than one webcam installed, click the Devices menu and select the one you want to use.
  2. Click the Options menu, then click “Video capture Pin.”
  3. Under “Color Space/Compression:”, choose one of the following formats:
    • RGB 24 (our recommendation)
    • I420
    • IYUV
Note: If one of the options above isn’t in the list, then your webcam is not compatible with Yahoo!7 Messenger.
  4. Under “Output Size”, choose one of the following:
    • 160 x 120
    • 320 x 240
Note: If one of the options above isn’t in the list, then your webcam is not compatible with Yahoo!7 Messenger.
  5. Click OK
  6. Close the ampcap application.
  7. From your desktop, click ‘Start’ and select ‘Run’.
  8. In the run box, type: dxdiag
  9. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.
  10. On the System Tab under ‘System Information’, look for DirectXversion. Verify that your version is DirectX 9.0. If it is, just click Exit. If your version is older than 9.0 (any lower number), click here to download the latest version of DirectX.
  11. Start the webcam from Messenger by clicking My Webcam in the Messenger menu.
Attention Logitech webcam users:
Some Logitech webcam drivers may cause one of the following problems:
  • Windows freezes when accessing the webcam
  • A black screen appears when using the webcam in Messenger
  • A ‘Webcam not found’ error message appears.
  • After 3 seconds, the sound drops out of calls made via Messenger
If you already verified that your device is compatible through the above steps and you’re a Logitech webcam user, please click here to update your Logitech webcam driver.

Image quality wit logitech quickcam chat

Normal 0 You need to go to the manufactures site and download the XP or VISTA driver for the camera. Then follow the info below to install the program.

Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Code error 0x80040606

Can you try the following to see if it works? 1st, Make sure QuickCam Version 11.0.0.1218 is installed. 2nd, Make a copy of the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\LogiShrd" to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech". After you make a copy of this folder, under C:\Program Files\Common Files you should see both a "LogiShrd" and a "Logitech" folder. Both folders should have the same content under them (ie. "LVMVFM" directory, "KAudP" directory, etc...) 3rd, Uninstall Logitech QuickCam Version 11.0.0.1218, and the QuickCam Drivers in Add/Remove programs. 4th, Reboot. 5th, Reinstall 11.0.0.1218 See if this works... Also, an alternative: instead of "uninstalling" Logitech QuickCam version 11.0.0.1218 in Step 3 above, you can try "Repairing" it from Add/Remove, and do not uninstall the drivers. Background: Working with a forum poster, we found a problem with a path-resolution function that maybe triggered by a Windows Update. Basically, it seems a Windows Update is added some extra folder attributes that causes the path resolution function to fail. When the path resolution failed, the code was set to failsafe to a "Logitech" directory instead of "LogiShrd" directory. This would also explain why these problems don't happen 100% of the time (because it seems the path resolution function doesn't fail 100% of the time) and the errors started appearing in 10.5 and above, when the Logitech folder was renamed to LogiShrd. Hope this helps!

Adobe Acrobat 8 error 2711

Sounds menacing but it’s fairly easy to fix.
Heres how to fix it:
  1. Download msicuu2.exe (Windows Install Cleanup Utility) from Microsoft, or by clicking on the file name.
  2. Run msicuu2.exe
  3. You will then get a message asking if you wish to roll back the in progress installation. You do.
  4. Install Adobe Acrobat or Reader 8.

Adobe’s more intrusive way of fixing it:
  1. Click Start>Run, type in regedit then hit enter or press ok.
  2. Back up your registry (not actually mentioned by adobe but a good idea whenever you’re about to make changes to the registry)
  3. Look for Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Inprogress
and delete the key if it exists.
  4. Install Adobe Acrobat or Reader 8.

Logiteck quickcam communicate

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>- --> Troubleshooting: Image Quality for Cameras trnsp.gif Detailed Description This article covers some standard troubleshooting for issues such as fuzzy, grainy, out-of-focus or off-color camera images. trnsp.gif Answer The information in this article applies to the following software
QuickCam 9.x and below
ImageStudio 7.x and below
Many factors can affect the image quality of your pictures. If you are experiencing blurry images, please try adjusting the focus ring located around the lens. This will allow you to focus the camera image on objects at different distances. Also, make sure there is good lighting. Improving the lighting conditions can improve the image quality considerably.
Connection Issues:
If the image quality is poor while transmitting video over the Internet using video enabled programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! or AOL Instant Messenger, your connection speed to the Internet directly affects the image quality of the transmitted video. Corporate LAN, DSL/cable modem connections will result in the best image quality experience, while dial-up connections may result in choppy and overall poor quality because of the slower connection speed. Even broadband connections such as DSL/cable modem may experience choppy video at times because of Internet traffic or slow upload speeds. If the image appears clearly in the camera software, most likely your Internet connection may be responsible for the poor image quality in your video program.
Changing Display Adapter Settings:
If you are still experiencing a distorted, fuzzy or grainy image, you may need to change the settings for your display adapter. For optimal image quality, please make sure the video display adapter is set to display at least 16-bit high color or higher. To change the color palette please perform the following steps:
  1. Click on "Start," "Settings," and "Control Panel."
  2. Double-click on the Display icon.
  3. Click on the tab labeled Settings.
  4. In the dialog box labeled Color Palette, verify the video mode is set to 16-bit (high color) or 24-bit (true color).
  5. Also, check with the manufacturer of the video card for updated video drivers.
Low Light Boost:
If you cannot do anything to improve the lighting situation, some Logitech video cameras have an option for "Low Light Boost." If there is an option for "Low Light Boost," try enabling the "Low Light Boost" in the QuickCam software. To do this:
  1. Open the QuickCam software.
  2. At the bottom right hand corner of the camera image box, click on the arrow next to the QuickCam icon.
  3. Choose "Advanced Camera Settings".
  4. Under the Image Enhancement box, place a check mark in the "Low Light Boost" option.
  5. If that does not improve the image quality, try adjusting the other image settings, such as contrast, saturation brightness, gain and white balance.
  6. Click OK when your are done.
