If the sequence is 4 red, green, 4 red, green and so on- that's a code
that indicates your battery is failing and is only providing less than
25% of its normal charge capacity.
That would mean your battery is basically dying and will probably keep
headed downhill in a hurry. You should probably go ahead and start
looking at getting a replacement.

It indicates that there is a battery problem. Eject the battery and put it in place again and reboot the laptop. If there is flashing still, you need to get it replaced. Looks like it is nearing the end of its lifecycle. A new battery should resolve it.
Hi there James it seems to me like you have the yellow light of death, but don't worry this is something that can be fixed. You have two options here Option1 you can send the console to SONY for $150, they will send you a refurbished model oh and all data may be lost. The whole process usually takes about 4-6 weeks. Option 2You can fix the problem at home with a PS3 repair guide worth only $40 a 3rd of the cost of sony, the ps3 will be fixed within the next hour or 2. Hope this helps
There are actually some certain meaning on the red light and green light showing different information to user. The summaries are: 1) Green On, Red Off = Printer Ready. 2) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Fast-Flashing = Printer warm up. 3) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Off = Printer off-line. 4) Green Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Processing Data. 5) Green Off, Red On = Cover Opened, Toner Empty or Developer Unit / Drum unit missing. 6) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset. 7) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted. 8) Green Off, Red Off = Printer power is off. 9) Green Very-Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Printer in sleep mode. 10) Green (any condition above), Red Slow-Flashing = Toner low or paper empty.

this happiness when you've used the laptop off power for some time. it indicts your battery levels. when the battery level is low to a certain %ge then it warns you before its totally empty. always power up your laptop whenever it lights or save your work in order not to lose unsaved data.
Flashing red light 3 times and won't boot. I recently recalibrated the battery and again the 3 flashing red lights. Seem to be draining the battery fast. It's also a new battery...which work for about 2 weeks before the 3 flashing red lights first started. Now 2 batteries later. It won't boot.

The icons from the left:
1. Power indocator
2. Hard Disk indicator --> it is a tube icon, not battery, but means hard drive.
3. Power Source indicator
4. Bluetooth indicator
The third from left means the power source indicator. Normally it is light green. If there is battery problem (can not charge or battery overload) it flashes amber/orange. If flashes red, it indicates that the battery power is low. You need to change the battery or connect the AC adapter.

Ok the lightning bolt is your power indicator: solid green-charging, Flashing green-fully charged, flashing red-low battery, flashing red three times the once green-bad battery. the "trash can" looking one is your hard drive activity indicator it will flash while your hard drive is reading and writing.
