The simple answer is yes. Make sure that either the hot water (h/w) hose is hooked up to a faucet and turned off or make sure there is a plastic female plug on the h/w intake on the back of the washer.

Your washer will be fine and you will save energy as well. Win win situation.

Does the hotpoint need hot water to feed it or does it heat its own water i.e has a cold water feed

Hi,

If it has 2 water inputs one is for hot (normally marked with RED) and the other for cold (sometimes no colour, sometimes plain white) .
If it has one input it is for cold.
In BOTH cases the washer will have a heater, in case the hot water supply is not hot enough and for heating the cold ;-0)

Hope this answers your question,

Does the wma76 hotpoint need a hot water feed? Is a cold water feed enough?

Hi from retired Englishman in France (it's 21:29!),

If your washer has 2 pipes for feeding water then one is for hot and the other is for cold naturally.
All washing machines have a water heating element in them- in case any hot water supply is not hot enough for its wash.
If you only have a cold tap you will need to purchase a 'Y' connector. This screws onto the cold tap supply (single end) and the hot and cold feed pipes connected to the washer screw onto the other two ends. The machine will now be fooled into thinking it has two separate feeds!
The machine opens the valve for the 'hot' water supply (which of course is cold) and the heats it up to the required temperature for the wash cycle. Afterwards, when the machine requires cold water for rinsing, it opens up the 'cold' supply (which is the same supply as for the hot water!) and is happy.

Hope this answers your question.

Is the feed pipe a hot or cold feed?

Connect the dishwasher to the HOT water side. Although most dishwashers have a heating element to heat the water, they are normally installed this way to reduce the amount of time the heating element is on. This not only extends the life of the heating element, but also reduces the amount of electricity required to heat the water. Another helpful hint: Before you run the dishwasher, run the hot water tap until the water runs hot. This will fill the dishwasher with water that is already hot instead of the cold water that normally sits in the line after the hot water has not been run for a while. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Hotpoint Electronic 800 WM 12 Aquarius won't rinse

If it won't rinse because it won't fill, it's most probably because the cold water inlet valve is faulty. Many machines will only rinse with cold water....No cold water.....No rinse!! Not a big job.....Nomess

Hot point aquarius 1100 - does this have a heating element for cold water feed ? or does is need direct hot water feed ? (there is a inlet at back for both hot and cold so presume no heating element ?)

All Hotpoint washers have heater element regardless of whether they are cold fill only, or hot and cold fill.
if 2 connections at rear, then it is hot and cold fill, if only 1 connection, then it is cold fill only.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

The water feed to the ice maker will not shut off.

Either the water valve has stuck open or the IM water switch is stuck. Unplug the wires from the water valve and see if the water has stopped. If yes it is the switch, if still running in the it is the valve.
