There is always the possibility that the main control board has failed in that unit. The unit generates very high voltage and negative charges that leave the grid to trap small particles. With that in mind the board can accumulate a static charge and be ruined. Can you run it? I would not. There are cases where units similar to yours have caused fires.
As errors and fixes vary by brand at least and sometimes by model as well, that minimum information is posted with a query. On some models, it would mean that the filter needs replacement, that its filtration ability had fallen below an acceptable threshold. On others, it would mean that pollution has been detected. The user manual should indicate what it means. Possibly, you might find information at the brand site or at a user manual site or just by Googling "brand model air purifier red light"
The plus sign + is positive, minus - equals negative.
It doesn't sound like that's all you needed. If you are referring to wiring for your air purifier then please provide the make & model of your unit and additional details of what problem you are trying to solve.
Thank you.

Check the metal contact near the base of the unit inside by looking through the vents. If it's dirty that's the problem. The contact legs on the bottom of the magnet plate gets dirt on them too. Both need to be clear of any dirt or foreign material. If you are Hearing static instead of smelling it, that means the unit needs cleaning again. Hope this helps
(from the manual) Turn off the unit. Look just below the last light on
the "filter change indicater meter". You'll see a very small hole and
the words "reset". Use a sharp object, such as the end of a paper clip
(opened up) and stick the paper clip or sharp object into the hole.
This is suppose to reset the unit. However, I have heard of cases when
people of done what I just described but the indicator late still will
not reside to green. I hope this helps you.
