How To Unlock a Blackberry Curve 8520
1. Turn on your Blackberry Curve 8520 phone with your current network/service provider’s SIM card. 2. Using the menu go to Settings Menu -> SIM card and press select. 3. While holding the SHIFT key, type mepd. 4. You should now see the five locking categories listed. 5. While holding the SHIFT KEY, type mep2. 6. Release the shift key. 7. You will now be prompted to enter the Network MEP code. 8. Enter the Unlock Code. 9. Enter Return/Enter. 10. Your Blackberry Curve 8520 phone should then be unlocked.
Now you should have yourself a fully unlocked Blackberry Curve 8520. Before you can use your newly unlocked phone on a new phone carrier’s network, you must buy a SIM card and order a voice plan with that carrier. If the steps above did not work on your Blackberry Curve 8520, do not try repeating as this could just permanently lock your mobile phone.
Try somebody else's battery, if the problem persists, it's most likely a logic board issue. There are blackberry repair
websites that show you how to do the replacement yourself, otherwise
here is a service that can repair any Blackberry Bold, Storm, Pearl,
Curve, 8800 for screen, lenses,
track balls, usb ports, waterdamage etc.
The website is: Blackberry Repair
check your battery terminal. I had this same problem right out of the box. it would only stay on for 15secs shut down and continue to cycle. turns out one of the 4 prongs wasnt connecting right with the battery. I could clearly see one was shorter than the others.
The phone would only work if connected to the computer.
Are you within your 30days? or 1yr manfacture warranty? or 90 days if it refurb (ATT)(anyway)
Have you tried different chargers? It's either the voltage regulator in your curve or a very weak almost dead battery. You can test the batt if you have a friend with a curve, swap batteries in your phones and if yours works again and his does what yours did, get a new battery and all is well. If yours keeps acting up with the swapped battery, it may be time to get a new phone.
