Hi can anyone help my partner has bought me a MDA VARIO for christmas but I do not have a manual. My problem is since I have set my e-mail address and phone provider whenever I get an e-mail or sms message it connects to the internet so if I dont hear it its on till I dis-connect it which the longest time upto yet is 40mins online without even knowing. Can anyone tell me how to change my settings please.

I'm not sure if you are using GPRS, EDGE, EV-DO, etc....

this is how you do it with GPRS

REG HACK - Turn off GPRS totally (and back to working state) without going to settings

1: You need a Registry editor ( eg. Resco Explorer... there are freeware registry editors too )
2: Find the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\
3: under that , you should see you GPRS settings , for example , mine 's OPTUS GPRS Internet , OPTUS GPRS MMS etc , pick the right one and export it to the *.REG file, and name it to something like " GPRS ON.reg "
4: Modify the setting inside ( for example OPTUS GPRS Internet ) , and change the Enabled value from 1 to 0, then export it to GPRS OFF.reg

use the GPRS ON /OFF .reg to toggle between GPRS always off and on when required.

Happy Registry editing

How do i unlock htc wiza200 mda

There is a very straightforward solution now, thanks to some helpful peeps at xda-developers forum. Simply download a zip file called lokiwiz3a.zip (Google is your friend).

I used it yesterday and had generated the unlock code within minutes of connecting the MDA Vario with my laptop.

in windows, right click on the CD player with you cd in it.
click explore and look for USB Drivers.
Install the drivers and try hooking your phone up again.
Try using a fast USB 2.0 port on the computer.

MDA Vario died - HELP

hi. i have had the same problem and have had to change the battery twice in the three years i have had it. sometimes the batteries that you can buy off ebay are quite cheap but go off without any warning fairly quickly.last one i have bougt has lasted me 1.5 years without any probs.
my other advice would be to back up your contacts/other sensitive information somewhere safe( your phone SIM for example- which has to be done one at a time for the mda vario)as well just in case.
hope it helps
