If you don't have documents, pictures, etc on the hard drive that you need to backup, try running system recovery by doing the following (not sure if this works on the version with a solid state drive):
1. Turn on the computer
2. Press and hold Alt + F10
3. Click on Restore System to Factory Default
4. Ensure the netbook is plugged into AC power instead of running off the battery and click OK

* This will return your netbook to the condition it was in from the manufacturer.

Sounds like the harddisk has crashed, get a program called partition commander or norton commander and run either on them to to reset the hard drive. You'll need a new operarting system like winxp,or vista to use laptop again.

Aspire one keep saying no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key and I don't have a disk slot

You hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it. The obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player. Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB... Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

My acer aspire one netbook AOD257 keeps telling me no bootable device insert boot disk

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Ntldr is missing on my sylvania g-netbook.I do not have BIOS password to re-setup OC(Windows XP).Can you help me

NTLDR is short for NT loader - a program loaded from the hard drive boot sector that displays the Microsoft Windows NT startup menu and helps Microsoft Windows NT load. So when it goes missing for some reason, your windows cannot load.It may be caused by windows trying to boot from a different media than C:. ensure that there is no removable disks before you proceed.
  1. Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
  2. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
  3. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
  4. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
  5. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
  6. Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter.I have use "e:" here. This letter may be different on your computer.

    copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
    copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\
  7. Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

My daughter's ACER inspire one gives the following message and makes a beeping sound "Check Cable connection! PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE Rom No bootable device---insert boot disk and press any key

There is a loose connection between the hard drive and motherboard of the computer, that's why you are getting that message. You most likely need to take it to a computer repair shop so they can fix it.
