My g1 wont turn on but if i charged it and try to turn it on it would vibrate but the screen is still pitch black

the LCD of your phone is not working, check the flex or ribbon of your Iphone's LCD.

try to complete the charging process before you power in your phone

HOpe you did the hard reset by pressing and holding home +power and then alt+w .
Does pressing and holding camera and power gives you the bootloader ( Hboot ) screen . IF yes , try reset from there .

Try hard resetting it once. But make sure you have enough charge. But this will erase everything.

To perform a Hard Reset

1. Turn the phone off. If it is frozen, take the battery out and put it back in.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
3. Press Alt+L.
4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.

Try swapping out the battery with a fully charged battery. However, this is most likely a hardware issue with the battery or the phone itself. Try switching the battery first, but if it doesn't work, it will have to be serviced by a technician.

Is the battery charged? Is the charging LED showing up as normal when you connect the charger? Try charging the battery for a few hours and then try to reset the device?

I feel your pain. My g1 droped, the screen cracked, now 3 weeks later my screen turns black. Not even turning it off or removing the battery for hours changes this. However, i found if you wiggle the screen just right sometimes you can get your screen back... for a little bit.

I dropped my G1, picked it up and it was fine went home a few hours later starting going through my apps it started running weird then it shut off...I took the battery out and put it back in when i did that it vibrated telling me there was life in the battery but the screen stayed blank no G1 intro no android nothing...then screen is not black but a grayish white depending the angle you hold the phone at. I called my carrier we did the reset nothing happened its still stuck at the blank screen? Any help with this?

You are going to have to ty a hard reset. Don't worry about things being deleted from the phone, as your phone auto syncs with Gmail when you enter your account info again.

To hard reset...turn the phone on while holding home and back. Follow on screen prompt.

once phone is on, open keyboard and hold alt first + w
