Hi stan_z4, do you have the manual for you're board?
I'm showing the P4VMM2 is made by ESC = EliteGroup.
Which is not listed above (Intel D845EPI).
If you do have the board EliteGroup P4VMM2 than turn to page 11 in the user manual. The jumper for the cmos/bios JBAT1, Pins must be set to 1 & 2. If JBAT1 is set to pins 2 & 3 you will reset you're bios every time you boot up.
